In the rugged terrain of Uttarakhand, amidst the daunting challenge of rescuing 41 construction workers trapped in a collapsed tunnel, an exceptional display of solidarity and unwavering dedication unfolded. As the world watched, it wasn’t just technology and expertise that endeavoured to save lives; it was the resilience, valour, and unity of a diverse workforce, including the remarkable efforts of the Muslim community that emerged as the unsung heroes of this narrative.
The arduous mission began on November 12 when a landslide trapped the workers within the dark confines of the tunnel. Despite numerous setbacks and the failure of advanced machinery, hope remained alive, buoyed by the relentless determination of a diverse team working tirelessly to breach the impasse. Amidst this determined collective, individuals like Munna Qureshi, Feroz Ansari, Naseem Ansari, Irshad Saifi, Rashid Ansari, Vakeel Ahmed, Nasir Idiresi, Jatin Lodhi, and Ankur Jaiwal, representing the diverse Indian society, epitomized the essence of unity and dedication. The unwavering commitment of Muslim workers to the rescue operation transcended barriers, working shoulder to shoulder with their non-Muslim counterparts. These individuals showcased their allegiance to their motherland, a testament to the ethos of India’s unity in diversity. Galvanized by the spirit of Prime Minister’s call for unity, the impossible task metamorphosed into reality. Notably, a significant portion of these heroes hailed from the Pasmanda Muslim community (a group often overlooked by Ashrafs centric politics) through their dedicated service, displayed the true essence of patriotism and unity. As families camped in anticipation, anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones, it was this diverse band of heroes who persevered, defying the odds, and exemplifying the spirit of unity and sacrifice that defines the true strength of India. In the wake of this monumental rescue, it’s imperative to recognize the undeniable contribution of the Muslims especially Pasmanda Muslims, the backbone of this nation, whose devotion, courage, and unity in the face of adversity serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come. This in turn will help in silencing those hate mongers who work tirelessly to promote enmity on communal lines by regularly questioning the patriotic sentiments of Muslims. Uttarakhand tunnel rescue has silenced all the detractors.
